Guangzhou Xinron Pharmaceutical Packaging Co., Ltd. has been issued the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification since May 2022. Xinron follows GRS standard and is able to offer certified aluminium collapsible tubes made from recycled material. Our tubes are ideal for applications across multiple industries, mainly in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
Global Recycled Standard is an “international, voluntary standards that set requirements for third-party certification of recycled input and chain of custody”. Certified suppliers not only use recycled materials for production but also meet criteria for “social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions”. The ultimate goal of GRS is to “reduce harmful impact of production to people and the environment” and to promote sustainable products. (For more details on GRS, see textileexchange.org)
A GRS certified supplier must have a valid scope certificate (SC) and be able to provide a transaction certificate (TC) for goods that are produced according to GRS standard. Both scope certificate and transaction certificate are issued by a third party and are essential to verify that the products delivered meet GRS standard. Specifically, a scope certificate verifies the production site is capable of making products according to GRS standard. A transaction certificate gives proof of the trading of GRS certified products in the supply chain.
As a GRS certified supplier, Xinron procures aluminium slugs that contain recycled material from GRS certified suppliers and produces aluminium collapsible tubes according to GRS standard. Customers who have made a purchase from Xinron will be provided with the relevant transaction certificate along with the shipment of aluminum tube products. While Xinron is able to comply with GRS standard, it should be noted that Xinron offers both GRS and non-GRS certified products.
To verify that the products you purchase from a supplier are GRS certified, you want to look for a supplier who has a GRS scope certificate. Further, the supplier should be able to provide a transaction certificate to verify that the goods contain the claimed recycle material.
A transaction certificate is required to contain information regarding the transaction details and recycled content percentage of the certified product. The information should be consistent with that on the invoice and on the shipping document.
Driving higher percentage of recycled material in mass production is considered one of the effective ways to conserve energy and to reduce CO2 footprint. Making recycled aluminum saves up to 95% energy in comparison with primary metal.
Committed to sustainable packaging solutions, Xinron produces aluminum tubes made of 75% recycled material and will keep on promoting the use of recycled aluminum in cosmetic and pharmaceutical packaging. Xinron not only has GRS certificate but also complies with ISO 15378 and maintains an active Drug Master File (DMF) at FDA.
