Direct contact with the packaging materials has an important impact on the safety and stability of medicines. Inappropriate packaging materials can cause the migration and adsorption of active pharmaceutical ingredients, cause drug failure, and even cause serious toxic and side effects. Therefore, before choosing packaging materials and/or containers for any drug, these materials and/or containers must be evaluated to prove that they are suitable for intended use. "Aseptic" packaging is a method of sterilizing and packaging drugs in a "sterile" environment using instant ultra-high temperature sterilization technology. It can better protect the pharmaceutical ingredients and extend the shelf life of medicine. Although it is impossible to completely and absolutely sterilize the production and packaging of any kind of drugs, the use of antibacterial polymer packaging materials for drug packaging can inhibit bacterial contamination. It ensures the effective ingredients of drugs, extends the shelf life of drugs, and ensures the safety of medication. Therefore, sterilization will be the general direction of future pharmaceutical packaging.
